Well the original plan was for Nattie to turn on Ronda around SummerSlam, and then move forward with that feud, but Anvil died mid-August. So that plan got pushed aside.
It would have been in poor taste right then and there, but it could have been done now, 6 months later, but there is a bigger story to tell with Becky.

I don't think Nattie turning would have effected things for mania.. Even WWE knows that Nattie while loyal and dependable is not a top performer. In fact, if Rousey didn't come in, she'd probably have way less of a role. The Becky situation changed with Nia bloodied her face. That's undeniable fact and Becky has cemented it by only growing her base.
The thing with Charlotte is going to be dragged out to the point everyone is going to think she's being added to the match. Then she either will be or she won't. But we're not going to know for sure for at least another month or so.. (post fastlane)
Edit:
No way is Nattie the Wrestlemania match for Ronda. Don't even think that.

ITS NOT HAPPENING....
Fuck man, stop trolling. lols.
Nattie, the woman who had a fart gimmick is not leap frogging Becky or Charlotte for that matter to take down Ronda. It would have zero heat. The match has already happened and she lost clean.
it would have happened already if they were going to do the turn.

What they don't seem to realize is that more main roster PPV events makes each individual one less special. I regularly miss PPV's now and only bother to catch up if I have time before the next one.
Their statistics seem to reflect that fans don't much care about talk shows, roundtables or vault content, but it's new, live, in-ring wrestling content that is getting numbers.
I too thought that Fastlane was too much. I miss the six weeks between No Way Out and WrestleMania. But they feel they have to keep pumping out this PPV content to keep our $9.99 coming.https://youtu.be/wue-ZFnEta8
My latest (and hopefully last) Covid-Era show

Myself, I watch more vault stuff, older shows than i do the regular live content.
Back to Becky, I didn't really care for the promo tonight cause not only is it an Austin retread, I don't think working an injury angle is the smartest thing in year 2019. Everybody knows how strict WWE is about injuries now.. you have some guys taped up but still working.. I don't know, just comes off like Becky is a bit of a whiner

The entire injury angle is the way that the WWE is putting Charlotte into the match.
1. Becky is "hurt" and thus suspended.
2. Becky refuses medical treatment.
3. Stephanie needs a main event so she puts Charlotte into the match to fill Becky's spot again, to a chorus of boos from the crowd.
4. Becky comes back, cleared and Stephanie makes it a triple threat.

The Charlotte thing, and her getting in the match, continues the storyline from Becky's summer as well - the whole point of that (and the whole reason why it failed miserable, because the character alignments were trash against how the WWE wanted people to react) was that Charlotte is entitled and gets chances based on her name alone rather than earning them, while Becky has had to fight constantly to even get a look in. It's why it worked when Becky had to earn a shot against Carmella but then Charlotte turned up on Smackdown once and ended up in the match, and now the same thing is going to happen, essentially, with Mania and Ronda.
It's why it works to have Charlotte come out and just go 'well, I'll have that match if she can't go' and actually getting it, effectively, without doing anything to earn it except exist, but having Becky have to go through the Rumble then overcome other obstacles to get there.
I don't like it, and I don't think it's the right route, but it all makes sense from a storytelling perspective, at least. And, you know, this will probably be the match with the longest story arc going in to Mania, especially with them looping it back to pre-SummerSlam.
Can't help but feel that another benefit WWE sees in adding Charlotte is it means Ronda continues to not directly take a loss in WWE. Becky will either pin or tap out Charlotte, Ronda will remain 'undefeated'.

I understand the story telling logic and continuity of Charlotte being added, but in my honest opinion, and prediction, if/when Charlotte is added to the match to make it a triple threat, is the WWE might have another CM Punk/Daniel Bryan situation.
The McMahaons all came to RAW and Smackdown to state that they are going to listen to the crowd. The crowd does not want Charlotte added to the match. All they want is to see Becky vs Rousey one on one, where Becky defeats Rousey either by pinfall or submission. That is the go home moment and the closing shot of Wrestlemania. The crowd will go nuts and that is really the only truly compelling story that the WWE has to tell this year.
I could honestly see, now especially with AEW, if top stars, and yes, Becky is a top star, keeps getting passed over for the chosen few (cough, Charlotte, cough) she may ask to be released and join AEW. Most likely that WILL NOT happen, but it is a possibility now, especially with Ambrose choosing to not renew his contract. Does Vince really want to make his hottest property right now mad and feel slighted?
Regardless, if Charlotte is added to the match, Becky still needs to win in, by submitting Rousey. Rousey is the one who needs to take the fall.
