  • NWA Shockwave is back on YouTube. For now it looks like they're replaying some of the UWN matches that happened a couple of months ago. I hadn't seen these so it works out great for me.

Episode 1 was highlighted by part of the Nick Aldis vs. Mike Bennett NWA Championship match that happened a while back. They didn't show the entire match, so it's tough to gauge it. It didn't feel like anything special.

Episode 2 was main-evented by a really awesome NWA Women's title match between Thunder Rosa (before she dropped the title to Serena Deeb) and Priscilla Kelly. It was a solid 25-minute match, really good action from start to finish. I recommend giving this one a watch if you're a fan of women's wrestling.

    • Nice to see that NWA is getting back on it's feet. I think they might have been hit harder than anyone by pandemic, came at a really terrible time for them.

      • I’d like to see Powerrr back. I’m a fan of that platform. The rise of Tim Storm was pretty special, too. I think it really does give that 3rd option that some of us fall into. I think AEW really opened a door for them, as there’s some fans who want an alternative to the alternative. I was getting a kick out of it. Didn’t like any idea of a promotional war between ROH and NWA though. But I stayed pretty entertained by it, which is hard for me in my older age.

        • Joseph Hudson, AKA Josephus and "The Question Mark" has passed away of an undiagnosed medical issue. He was one of those guys that nobody in the business could find a negative thing to say about.

          Just entirely too early. RIP.

          • I was shocked to see it. He seemed healthy as a horse a year ago. RIP indeed.

            • RIP Josephus. One of the talents most unique to the Billy Corgan run of NWA. Josephus was a very creative, interesting, and unique wrestler .

              • I thought his passing was a bigger loss to the NWA than any of these guys who have gone elsewhere. Thinking especially about the former TV champions who have left. Question Mark and Stevens captured the spirit of NWA Powerrr era.

Thunder Rosa paying tribute was a very nice touch. RIP Josephus.

                • Powerrrr is back, and a PPV. With so many talent having left, the big question is who will be on the show other than the obvious 5-6.

                  • Tonight's NWA show was really good. Meltzer won't be handing out 15 stars for anything, but it was a solid night of well wrestled matches that built one from another to a solid main event climax.

                    • What's the cost of a Power subscription now it's on FITE, about $5 a month?

                      • Who’s the announce team? Cornett brought a lot of credibility but Barret did surprisingly well. Wonder who they’re bringing to announce. I like the format and some of the talent. Too bad they’re not back on YouTube

                        • I didn't have a chance to check it out, but a little research points to Joe Galli, Tim Storm, & Velvet Sky in the booth for most of the first couple episodes. I could see Tim and Velvet both being good additions or I could see them not fitting into the role, if I get a chance to watch I'll be curious to hear how they are doing.

                          • Storm was good at the PPV. Missing energy in that booth, so maybe Velvet could add that.

                            • Just got a look at Aldis feud with Trevor Murdoch. I think Aldis is the best champion of the the last several years.

                              • I think he's the only non-Japanese champion I've really bought into at all in the last.... well, let's just say in quite some time.
