      • I think one of these clues will give it away, but let's try this

        1) I had my greatest successes in the territory system, but had a cup of coffee in the WWF and spent some unremarkable time in WCW
        2) A match I was involved in inspired a match concept that has become a mainstay of the WWE
        3) The match referenced in clue 2 was not readily available to re-watch for a very long time

        • Nikita Koloff?

Was in the first War Games match, that led directly to creating the HIAC and Elimination Chamber matches.

          • No, but you’re on the right path to a degree.

            • Nah, it's Last Battle of Atlanta, which inspired Hell in a Cell. And of the people involved in that match, Buzz Sawyer is the only one who was in WCW and WWF

              • we have a winner. I figured the references to Last Battle of Atlanta would get someone there quickly. So crazy to think that the match was preserved on reel and the WWE didn't realize until 2016 they had it in their archive as part of the WCW purchase

                • At first I was thinking Ladder Match, because I know that was in Stampede before WWF, and I seem to recall WWE never aired it. But those involved all people who were in WWF for a significant amounts of time.

1 - Born outside of the US, but trained and performed mostly in the US
2 - I've been a singles world champ, but not for one of the major promotions where ratings for the shows were often discussed. I was a tag champ in one of them though.
3 - My in-ring career trajectory was reduced by one medical issue, and then ended completely by a different one. But I still found work after this.

                      • I think this one will jump out at people - traveling so have to keep it pretty straightforward

                        1) I have several ties to the wrestling talk show segment format
                        2) My attire from an earlier stage of my career had an enduring legacy well beyond my departure from wrestling
                        3) My most-remembered gimmick led to a real transformation for me.

                            • HBK?

Had his own talk show, and the infamous Barber Shop segment. His DX gimmick led him to change his life for the better once he got hurt.
