  • Dammit, I was thinking it might be her.....just because of the Batista connection.

    • Thanks Pen, that seems to be somewhat familiar to me now that you provided the quote.

here we go with the next one:

I have the distinction of having a true first in the profession.
Wrestling was not my first calling.
I have been involved in at least one notorious and televised event for each of the three different promotions I worked for stateside during the 90s.

      • EDIT:

        Ron SImmons.

Was the first Black Heavyweight Champion ever.
        Notorious event: WCW mentioned above
        ECW: Faced Shane Douglas
WWF: So many to list, but I'll guess the Public Enemy thrashing with Bradshaw
Was an amazing College Football player, and played in the NFL for the Browns.

            • Yes indeed! Well played!

he actually had two firsts I can think of:
              first WCW lightweight champion
first match ever on Nitro (which is where my head went initially)

              first career was pro football

              notorious TV spots:
WCW: the whole bookerman worked shoot, getting Heenan to break Kayfabe and swear on the air
ECW: almost exposing himself and urinating on TV, wrestling a pencil (super inside baseball but still love this to this day
              WWF: Pillman’s got a gun

              • Dammit...and good for me...he was my first guess, then I edited to Simmons.

                1. I wrestled and/or worked for every major American promotion from the mid-80s until now.
                2. During my main and most notable run, I was primarily known for my ring antics and outfits.
                3. In all of the promotions mentioned above I only won 1 title, twice.

                • Is it Jake Roberts?

I feel like he must fit number one because he's been through JCP, WWF, WCW, TNA, and now AEW. But I can't think of what his outfits would have to do with it, nor can I actually recall a major title he's won.

                  • No not Roberts, and sorry...

EDIT clue 1, I never worked for AEW.

                    • I am really stumped on this one. I assume the first clue means inclusion on the AWA roster. Sherri Martel is close but she held a title in the AWA and WWF.

                      • No, by major, I mean: ECW, WCW, TNA, WWE

CLUE 4: I also wrestle for CMLL and was their Heavyweight Champion once.
CLUE 5: For the title mentioned in clue 3, I was the inaugural champion, and as such I earned one of my nicknames.

                        • It’s Norman Smiley. So his career spans from the mid-80s, but outside of a Clash (maybe a Starrcade) he didn’t wrestle for the “majors” until the mid-90s.

                          • YES!!!

His first match is in 1986.
Wrestled for WCW, ECW, TNA, and is a trainer for WWE
He only won the WCW Hardcore Champion, and was first known for his Wiggle, then as the HC Champ, known for wearing football uniforms with full pads to the ring, and was so scared that he screamed during his matches...Screaming Norman Smiley.

                            • 1. I spent 1987-2001 working as a heel or at best a tweener, while working for two of the major US promotions (I did have a short, but multi-year break to work internationally)
                              2. I was able to work the top of the card, partially due to my persona and reputation for toughness whenever I was called on to do so.
                              3. Despite the fact that I could be slotted in as a legitimate threat when needed, I only won one title while working the US majors.
