  • It's not Piper unless there's been a mistake. I remember him holding the WCW US title in 1999, so with the IC title as well that'd still be two (even if you wrote off the first two US title reigns as pre-WCW).

EDIT: Gooner beat me to it!

    • So.... Is it Haku?

      • I am 99% sure that you are correct. Damn. Wrong movie. I thought it was a guy from The Wrestler in 1974, not Paradise Alley.

        • Yes, it's Haku

          • Cool. OK, let's try one.

            1) I made my debut in 1977.
            2) I have been involved in a hair vs hair match.
            3) In WWE, I have briefly worked a Roman gimmick, under a mask, and as a heel.

                • Hogan?

                  • Nope.

                    5) it has been suggested by some that my biggest contribution to wrestling is a pause.

Not gonna lie, this one is super tricksy - so bear that in mind when you think about the clues.

                    • George Gray; The One Man Gang/Akeem?

He debuted in 1977 and was in a hair vs hair match against Kerry Von Erich.

                        6) I probably only worked the Roman gimmick mentioned in clue 3) for about 3 hours, give or take.

                        • Great clue Prime! It’s Howard Finkel.

I’m in meetings all day today so will pass my turn off

                          • Good work!

                            So to clarify

                            1) Debuted as a ring announcer in 1977.
                            2) Was involved in the hair vs hair match between Jarrett and X-Pac.
                            3) Was 'Finkus Maximus' at Wrestlemania IX, 'El Dopo' the masked referee in 1999, and a heel in the feud with the other ring announcers.
                            4) Feuded on and off with Downtown Bruno/Harvey Wippleman in the USWA and WWF in the mid-1990s, for a couple of years.
                            5) I've seen Finkel credited with introducing the big pause before 'and.... NEW!' in order to pop the crowd on a title change, which pretty much everyone now copies.
                            6) As in Clue 3, was only Finkus Maximus for the duration of Wrestlemania IX.

Tricksy as fuck, but I'm glad someone got it.

If BK is passing, then anyone can set the next one.

                            • Ahhhhhh... that does all make sense. Good one. Am I right in saying he has also appeared at the most Wrestlemanias?

                              • I'd guess that's probably Vince McMahon, if you add up all his different roles?

EDIT: Scratch that, Finkel only stopped appearing later than I thought. Even with his prominence as time goes on McMahon couldn't have caught him.
