  • Bit of a plunge in the UK ratings for the last Dynamite of January. Because the overall ratings for the channel were a little lower we can find them, and that probably gives us an idea of where they were in the weeks that they didn't make the top 50.

    • Both down quite significantly this past week. AEW at 741,000, which is pretty bad for them, while NXT were at 558,000, making it one of their 5 lowest ratings to date.

        • Anyone read Tony Khan's comments to Konnan about him criticism AEW booking? Are all wrestling promoters naturally unlikable?

          Comment

          • For the love of god, what a sanctimonious twat. As though "Young Bucks vs Lucha Bros", two high spot teams working a program, was a revolutionary idea that he "gave" AAA. They'd been feuding in an indy context before AEW. Was there even this great story told? Because I remember it was just two teams fighting over who was the best high spot team.

It's literally a mark, internet fan mentality that "I had this idea and it's great and nobody else could have thought of it."

You should see what Fulham F.C. fans say about him.

He could take a lesson from Vince McMahon and just keep his mouth shut and no-sell criticism. But he won't.

And in answer to your question: yes, all wrestling promoters are unlikeable. We discuss making sure nobody likes us in our monthly meeting.

EDIT: If I hear "The forbidden door is open" one more time I'm going to burn down TIAA.

            • I'm barely exaggerating when I say that everything I've ever heard Tony Khan say, on football or wrestling, has made me think less of him.

Anyway, AEW roughly in the same place last night with 747,000, while NXT managed to pull themselves back up to relative competitiveness with 713,000.

So this week they're both up, though it's AEW's turn to get the bigger lift.

                    AEW: 831,000 (+11.2%)
                    NXT: 734,000 (+2.9%)

                    • So...is someone in AEW a gambling addict? I cannot for the life of me understand where the desire to release an AEW branded casino mobile game comes from.

I don't even get where the casino element of the entire company comes from. I halfway understood it for All In. That makes perfect sense. But to continue it afterward kind of baffles me. What else about this company has to do with casinos? Is it because the whole thing's a gamble since the show sucks?

                      • It feels like they stumbled on the Casino gimmick and are running with it. And those games are money makers.

                        • Its a copy and paste mobile game. Which is typical for those type of games. They are easy to make and easy to sell to multiple different brands. That game been out for a few years under different names. Now AEW has a version of their own. People play them and they normally are decently profitable.

                          • Is it actual gambling? Or is it that shit where you get so many plays and then have to buy tokens with real money or whatever?

                            Seems real weird.

                            • I wondered if the whole 'casino' thing they'd gone with because they're the right age to have gotten swept up in that whole thing about 15 years ago when poker and online casinos and all that jazz became really cool. It kinda feels like it's a bit behind the time....

Anyway, just to keep the list updated a solid UK rating for the 19th of February with 145,000.

They have micro transactions I'm assuming. Just a money dump most of the time. We don't have gambling apps in the States as it isn't legal in most States.
