It's unfortunate that this show had one of its highest ratings in a while, because it was a pretty subpar episode of Dynamite. Hopefully All Out can deliver a few reasons for those people to want to tune in again next week.

Its nearly a year now and looking at those ratings with no sign of change, do you think they still believe they are going to get a big increase in the crowd with time if they keep doing what they are now or do you think AEW and the VPs know this is the level but are too proud/don't care too change the style?Comment

From most public indicators it looks like most people involved are content with what they're getting, so it looks like they don't have much of an incentive to try to grow the audience beyond what they have.
In this Internet age, I wonder if they would have garnered some more attention if they were touring and having live shows in front of thousands. Maybe some people would have stumbled upon the show on TV, see a huge crowd and stick around, or if someone who had nothing to do on a Wednesday night in their city decided to go to an AEW show and fall in love with the product. In any case, they definitely won't move the needle much with what they're doing now.Comment

Well, it's not been a great week for AEW. But here's something to give them a smile - they've had two of their best UK ratings in the last month. It's not stable yet, and it's still a ways off what people were hoping for when they launched, but the average is up significantly and in a moment where they need some good news, this is something they can cling to.

No NXT competition and a post-PPV bump sees Dynamite back over a million for the first time in about eleven months.
One of those things that for various reasons doesn't change a lot, but clearing the threshold after so long will probably feel like a win.
It was 1,016,000, for the record.

The UK ratings feel like they might be stabilising a little. The first show of the month, which I believe was the go home, was in the vicinity of 130,000. Again, it isn't what everyone hoped for when they signed the deal with ITV, but the truly poor ratings seem to be disappearing. I wonder if they can keep that going.

I really enjoyed Cutler vs. Avalon on this weeks Dark. It shows how even a basic story line can make a match that much more engrossing. I honestly was hoping something would happen and Veda would leave with Cutler but the double count out ending was a good call. Especially with it being the first one ever in AEW. I dont see much happening for either guy after their blow off but they are really making the most of a basic ass story. Kudos to them.sigpicComment

Ratings for the past week. Percentages are based on the last week they were up against each other, not any of the weirdery we've had in the mean time.
AEW: 886,000 (+11.8%)
NXT: 689,000 (+11.3%)
It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to work out that the overall audience was up by around 11% too, to just over 1.5 million total viewers.

More positive news from the UK ratings for the second week of September. Historically, of course, we'd expect to see a post-PPV bump, and it looks like they not only got one in the US but managed to get the same thing in the UK too. Ratings are still low, but there is some stability there finally, and it looks as though it's going in the right direction. I'd have to double check, but I think it's their best rating since they the first month they were on.

Ratings from this past Wednesday.
AEW: 835,000 (-5.7%)
NXT: 696,000 (+1.01%)
AEW down one in 20 people, while NXT up slightly, but in a way that's statistically insignificant.
For those more interested in the 'overall' health of wrestling on Wednesday night, the audience remains around 1.5 million, as it feels like it has done since things settled down last November.

Adding the rating for 18/09 to this. They're finally looking stable, as we approach one year of Dynamite.

Aew 866k vs Nxt 732k.
Both up, NXT up more, AEW still leading the way, overall just a shade under 1.6 million.

Dropped off a bit in the UK for the 25th, but still not so bad overall. Leaves them with comfortably their best average since the first month they were on TV.

So the debate-challenged editions managed 753k for AEW vs 639k for NXT.
Then in the UK, Dynamite started year 2 with a fairly decent 149k.
