I also think it's essential to use these established names primarily with fresh talent. I would think the last thing they want to do is present a slew of WWE rematches and keep the big names in their own little bubble, mixing it up is a good strategy I would say.

When did CM Punk turn heel? I just saw that last week he came out at the Nassau Coliseum in a John Tavares Jersey. Now if you do not know. Tavares is one of the most hated guys to NY Islanders fans, as he strung us along, and lied to us, and then went and signed with the Toronto Maple leafs.
Brilliant move by Punk, but that is a clear heel move. So when did he turn heel?

He didn't. But last time he was in Long Island he was feuding with MJF and they booed him hard. He probably anticipated that they would again since he and MJF have that history, or just decided to troll the fans there a little bit based on the last time he was there.
Adam Page is the one leaning heel.https://youtu.be/wue-ZFnEta8

It floors me that they’d have Punk chasing Adam Paige instead of MJF.See the latest of my Ric Flair saga click here. http://lordsofpain.tv/showthread.php...acock-(Part-2) View my story inspired by colorful wrestlers I've come across in my fandom. http://lordsofpain.tv/showthread.php...-the-Challenge

It seems Punk & Page are taking it in turns 'heeling it up' and that post Double or Nothing they'll both still be top babyfaces. I've seen the build compared to a big time boxing match where both guys might be genuinely good and nice guys but feel the need to say and do stuff to get under their opponent's skin to try and gain a psychological edge. It's different and seeing as they were never going to be able to build it into a huge grudge match in such a short space of time I think it works.

I think putting Punk into a baby face match for his title shot is pretty non imaginative. They’ve not really swung at the fences with him. Lots of punting from Tony Khan. I guess all you have to do is punt if you’re only going for one base, though.Last edited by Benjamin Button; 05-17-2022, 08:09 PM.See the latest of my Ric Flair saga click here. http://lordsofpain.tv/showthread.php...acock-(Part-2) View my story inspired by colorful wrestlers I've come across in my fandom. http://lordsofpain.tv/showthread.php...-the-Challenge

It doesn't matter. You make the star the World Champion, regardless of where they work. Going with Page because they planned it two years ago over Danielson six months ago was a mistake.
Punk's a draw. He sells tickets, his segments draw, his merch sells, his PPV's are up year-on-year. He can't be responsible for two full hours though.https://youtu.be/wue-ZFnEta8

Double or Nothing was certainly their longest show but to me it didn't feel it as I didn't watch it live and so was able to skip a couple of matches I had no interest in. Just a shame the result of the main event has been pretty much made null and void by Punk's injury.
