  • Limitless Keith Lee Thread

So I'm a fan of Keith Lee. He's a big hoss type dude that can do almost anything in the ring he wants, even fly at times. He just had his last match in Evolve with Matt Riddle. it was awesome. He'll be coming to WWE in the summer, presumablly to work NXT.

I think handled properly, he could be a star for them. He has a natural, physical charisma that alot of guys just don't have and he's quite good in the ring.

Has this cool theme too i hope he gets to keep.

posted thread here cause he's not in WWE yet.

I really enjoy what Keith Lee can do physically. He had one of my favorite matches last year, in PROGRESS with Travis Banks, where he threw the guy around like a literal ragdoll, and stopped a damn good tope cold by simply catching the guy like he was a brick wall.

My only beef with Lee, one that I hope NXT will fix, is that I don't really get what he's going for as a character. He's vaguely cocky but that's about it, and he makes a face like he secretly farted and is smugly waiting for you to smell it a lot. I think he's got enormous upside and hopefully his non-traditional build won't be a detriment to him in WWE, but I do think if they can put him in some honest to god angles and help him develop who he is beyond amazingly athletic big man he'll be doing better than ever.

I hear he was in the crowd at Takeover so I'm moving this in here now...

He's making his TV debut next week it sounds like. This might be the fastest anybody has gone to TV since signing (since he was officially announced a few days ago). They must think very highly of him.

He's worked a lot in EVOLVE so Gabe probably got him TV ready. He's one of the hottest indy names they've signed in a while (as far as that goes, anyway). I hope he does well, he's got a lot of potential.

He's also in his mid 30s already so if you have plans for him, you better start now. Sounds like he won't be on this Takeover upcoming but likely the next one.

I think they should absolutely run him against a jobber he can throw around. I miss when they did that, just take like 5 minutes entrances included and you can make a real fast, real positive impression I think.

Yeah, I'd be booking Lee vs Rick Richardson or whatever jobber they can pluck from the New York area on the Brooklyn card and just having Lee dominate the match and finish it in a couple of minutes, tops. NXT always has this kind of weird thing with incoming talent where their first Takeover match has to be 'competitive' or whatever, I remember Owens vs CJ Parker (where Parker broke Owens' nose) on the Takeover where Zayn won the title being a bit too even handed to really get Owens over big time.

Apparently he is debuting this week. After what you guys have said I'm keen to give him a watch.

Where do you think his ceiling ultimately lies?

Not sure to be honest Sam, but wouldn't be surprised if he went a long way.

Anyway - Lee shortly back from injury according to WWE.com

CM Punk called for Keith Lee to toss out Brock and then win.

I personally love the idea, but not of him doing both tossing out Brock and winning. I feel whoever dumps Brock gets the WWE title shot in the end, while the Rumble winner will face The Fiend. But for Lee to get a shot at one of those titles would be great.

That said, as much as I'm excited for him, the track record to hotshotting someone to the title and Mania main event is wonky at best. I worry that this would be the peak of Keith's career, when he has so much left in the tank.

I think that tonight is going to decide Lee's fate. If he wins the NA Title, then he is staying in NXT for a while, but he will be in the Rumble. If Lee loses tonight, then I can see Lee being the one to toss out Lesnar, and possibly facing him at Mania.

                          If Not Lee, then McIntyre.

Keith Lee was apparently on Lilian Garcia's podcast, talking about the influence Macho Man Randy Savage had on him growing up.

Here's a link to our MP story, from where you can get to the pod, if you're short of things to do!
