^Eh, CapAm picking up Mjolnir just means he’s worthy and honorable. Thor explained this in Age of Ultron, and actually had that look of WTF when Cap barely budged it during that scene. I think him fully picking up the hammer just reinforces what we’ve come to known the past decade... Steve Rogers is a good, wholesome dude with impeccable morals and honor.

Been reading rumours that apparently Norman Osbourne is going to be the next big bad in the MCU, and that the franchise will focus more on mini-arcs than a vast overarching story like the Infinity Saga. Don't know how accurate these are, but I thought it interesting they might go smaller, instead of straight back into something as big as what they'd just done.
Also couldn't disagree harder on andi's cynicism towards the X-verse! The X-Men movies, for my money, have quietly proven to be the strongest long-running superhero franchise to date. It's been going longer than the MCU after all, let's not forget. Sure there's been some stinkers in there, but I'd still put X2, First Class, DOFP and most definitely Logan up there with the very best superhero adaptations ever made. I'm even quite forgiving towards The Last Stand and Apocalypse as well, both of which have their plus points. I think the emotional core of TLS is actually really good, as is the soundtrack, and Apocalypse features some brilliant acting and performances from the franchise mainstays - and, again, another great soundtrack.
Man, I could gush about the X-Men movies for some time! Pumped for Dark Phoenix - more pumped to see how different a take Marvel might have on the characters.Last edited by Samuel 'Plan; 06-02-2019, 11:56 AM.

I’ve heard the same rumors about Norman Osbourne. One that’s making the rounds is he’s the one that bought the old Stark Tower after Tony moved everything to the new facility after AoU/Spider-Man: Homecoming. Don’t quite know how I feel with that. On one hand, he’s an iconic character and would of course make a great foil for Spidey at some point, as well as maybe introducing the Dark Avengers at some point. However, it seems like taking a step backwards after the Infinity Saga. We live in a world where every sequel needs to be bigger, better and faster than the previous, and I wonder how audiences will take to a general toning down in the overall narrative.
As far as the X-Men franchise, I don’t hate it as much as my previous post may have alluded. I’m just kind of over it and waiting for a new beginning. X1 was really good for what it was at the time. X2 was great and was the first at dropping little Easter eggs here and there from what I remember. (Mystique hacking through the computer files and coming across the list of other mutants not having been introduced on screen yet... Remy LeBeau being the one that specifically stands out from that scene.) Where they started to lose me was with consistency of quality. X3 and Origins:Wolverine were both heavily criticized. Instead of just rolling with the punches, though, Fox rebooted the franchise and even then, they decided that wasn’t enough, so they used time travel to essentially wipe out the timeline and canon.
I’ll still see Phoenix at some point because I’m a sucker and always end up seeing these movies. Hell... I watched Venom not too long ago. (Luckily there was copious amounts of booze involved with that, so it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been. Pretty sure it even became a drinking game at some point where I would take a shot for every eye-rolling scene that happened.)

Spidey FFH was fantastic, and a brilliant way to cap off phase 3. If you excuse some plot mechanics (like the fact that it takes place over 4 or 5 days, which is hugely unrealistic for what happens) it's a solid and very watchable film. And I'm now convinced that Tom Holland is the best actor to play Spiderman.
And yeah the two credits scenes are jaw droppers.

Lots of fun news from this weekend as everyone knows. In addition to those, Black Panther 2, Guardians 3, Fantastic Four were confirmed, mutants are coming and Mahershala Ali is Blade.
I take the Ali news that the Netflix shows are no longer belonging to the MCU and Feige is licking lips to recast those roles for movies or Disney+ shows (once he is able to).
