Default [CSI] RKO Edition 24: The begining of my rise

CSI 2010

The biggest writing tournament of lopforums.com finally comes back and I’m looking forward to the tournament. People from all over the globe are going to be writing to see who can dethrone Mazza and become the champion for 2010. Everyone is wasting their time because I will rise above the rest and prove why Australia is the greatest place in the world and why people from Hawaii will have no chance in hell in winning this competition.

Quote:
Dear Vincent Kennedy McMahon;

The Royal Rumble has always been a special pay per view in my eyes as it was the very first event I ever saw. Unfortunately for me it was Batista who won that Rumble and went on to Wrestlemania to face Triple H for the championship. I believe that the Rumble needs to be revamped in order for it to be exciting. I mean let’s face facts Vince your buy rates are not exactly the greatest right now and viewership is down a bit. January through until April should be a booming time for your company and you need to make the most of the opportunities that could be presented.

I think the Rumble needs to be revamped into something that can bring the viewers back and excite them again. I believe like phones (what I work with on a fulltime basis) everything needs to be upgraded and changed every now and again. Bring together what works from two separate parties, but since this isn’t technology this is wrestling so let’s bring together two matches and make them one.

I’ve always enjoyed the Gauntlet matches, it was always an interesting concept and you always thought the same question “can he do it?” A month before this event superstars fight it out in matches to determine what spot you come out, so say The Miz v Dolph Ziggler and The Miz wins, The Miz is then placed in the final 15 while Ziggler goes in the front 15. Once all matches have been contested there is a draw to see placing.

So, The Miz goes into one category with a ball tumbler with the balls 16 – 30 on them, just like The Rumble Miz picks one and that is his placing for the match. Just like The Rumble the first two guys enter until a maximum of 4 people are in the ring, once your eliminated you go to the back, expect eliminations aren’t over the top rope they are pinfall and submission only. I would have used only 2 guys but if you ever want to have a guy go from pillar to post one year this is a way for him to not eliminate 29 guys, this way he can still eliminate 5 and still win the entire thing.

I don’t know if you read LordsOfPain.net Vince but there was a guy called “Johnny Boomerang” who made the point obvious, what would happen if the winner was accidently eliminated? Guys like Hunter, Shawn, Cena, Batista and Jericho having egos like they have anyone of them being eliminated by the other; it would be all up for grabs. At least this method, the winner can’t be fluke eliminated. The winner of the match will go onto win a championship from the guy putting the title on the line (this is decided in a Champions verse Champions match between the World Heavyweight Champion and the WWE Champion, the loser puts his championship on the line) while the runner-up goes onto Wrestlemania choosing on which championship to challenge for.

Vince think about it just that bit more, imagine the winner having the bragging rights, not winning because of some fluke sidestep or viewing it on the other side and losing because of a fluke elimination, the winner would have the ultimate bragging rights, he is the undisputed winner of the match.

Still not sold on it? Well look at it this way, say you have CM Punk entering in first and going on to win the entire thing, no doubt CM Punk would be exhausted after awhile so CM Punk could take a breather while being on the outside and out comes Evan Bourne and John Morrison, two men who could pick up the pace and take the focus of CM Punk and still make the match interesting.

So to some this up here are the rules;

1) Elimination can only occur by Pinfall, Submission, Count-outs and DQ
2) Superstars will enter every 30 seconds until the ring has 4 men inside the ring, after that no one shall enter until someone is eliminated.
3) The winner shall become the champion while the runner-up will have a choice of going to Wrestlemania and being able to challenge for either championship he wants.

Many people may see this as an idea Vince but you’re a business man, you know you must give everything at least one go, I mean you gave the Championship Scramble a go along with crazy matches like The Elimination Chamber and Chairs matches so why not this match? Ideas like the Hell in a Cell were done as a trail and turned out to be super successful and appear at least one in a year, and we all know the Hell in a Cell was structured from the Steel Cage match.

Vince look deep down to give this a go and I promise it will not let you down, I look forward to receiving a return email or call and don’t think I’ve gone to all this trouble without giving this wonderful match without a name, Vince McMahon I present to you “The Royal Gauntlet Match”

Yours Faithfully

Kano

Enjoy looking at this prize boys, but try again next year because this bad boy is coming to the greatest land in all of the world, a place where it truly deserves to rest for another year... Australia

Typical Kano! A great idea (I am actually glad this one made it to print unlike some of the others). You really thought it out well to cover for some issues that would occur. My only issue is that it could go on a little too long with 30 guys involved. Maybe 20 would be more advisable. Not as many glaring mistakes here as usual but still one or two noticable ones (expect instead of except). The flow was off a couple of times but it is still an improvement from the last time I read you.

Hopefully, the idea will get you through to the next round.

I too noticed a couple of errors and left out words, but it barely hurt the overall column. A nice idea that would definitely add some credibility to the winner of the rumble. Rey Mysterio would never win in these circumstances, which is reason enough to be given some consideration.

I'm not sure how I feel about this proposal...it's certainly creative enough without digging back to the BattleBowl, so props there. Maz is right, it might just take too long. Maybe you could put six guys in at a time, rather than four? Not that it would make it go any faster, but there you have it.

A few errors here that made me go "ooh, bummer." Other than that, this was pretty well written and thoroughly thought out. Good luck.

The Maz - Thanks for the feedback man and the rating. I left this for a couple of days and came back and read it, hoping to get rid of all errors but alas they still exist, minor ones but soon I'll be busting out some stellar. Cheers for the read and feed.

Prince - Yeah man, Mysterio was undeserving of that win but he definitely made that Rumble interesting to watch. Thanks for reading and giving me some feedback man

Lenoard - I tried this time round to have no errors, I hope I go through because the pressure of making the top 16 made me want to write an amazing column, hope I can go through and achieve something. Thanks for reading man

I agree with the Leonard in thinking 6 guys in the ring at once may move the match at a quicker pace. Maybe a few more minor tweaks to the rules and I think it could work.

Good luck

Seems pretty reasonable, but it last like the whole PPV. Actually, that may not be a bad idea. The whole PPV being only one match. Great thought, Kano.

The 6 man elimination by pinfall or submission matches on SDvsRaw are always fun, a shame we don't see to much of them on TV. Gauntlet matches are often held in TNA to lead up to something else, but a whole big gauntletesque match with main event stars and a big prize would give it some meaning.

Best of luck man.
