Default Ricky Ortiz

Whats the deal with Ricky Ortiz as of late? He was going strong 4-0 until he faced Swagger. Since then, I've only seen in a handful of matches and backstage segments. Anyone know if he's injured?

Probably just the common creative excuse of "out of ideas".

I would accept that answer if not for this being ecw. How many matches on that show are just random thrown together matches?

He's better than the boogeyman, yet i still see a large man with a panted face eating worms almost every week.

the guy isnt anything special. his gimmick was stupid and i didnt really think he was over with the crowd. so theyre probably repackaging him or just dont have anything for him. it doesnt matter now, as they guy has a long way to go before hes a big time player imo

If he had a better finisher, he may be worth something.

Ortiz had nothing going for him at all. His stupid rally towels had to be papered, his finisher sucks, his hair is even worse, and he has very little wrestling ability.

so put him in some matches with people he can learn from i.e. Christian, Burchill, Finlay, Dreamer. I say, if he made to the tv roster, start doing something to get some money out of the investment. Start building future stars now.

Now that Boogeyman is gone, he may get more TV time.

Sadly, I doubt it. I wouldn't be surprised if Ricky got fired after The Draft.

Am I the only one who thinks Ortiz had potential?

I even think that he kind of "fell into" what could've been a great ECW run by being so annoyingly positive all the time. If he would've just turned heel at some point, maybe after losing to Swagger many weeks ago, I might've been a little bit interested. All he needed to do was just wipe his nose with one of those rally towels and tell all the fans to fuck off. Then, you let him work as a heel and see if it he gets over any better.

If he doesn't, well, at least you tested the waters a little bit.

I agree, though, that we'll be saying Ortiz get released sometime in 09' unless the writers or a McMahon feels the sudden urge to push him to the top of a very talented ECW roster (catapulting him past all the guys on ECW who actually DO get regular screen time: Swagger, Bourne, Christian, Tyson Kidd, Finlay, DJ Gabriel, Mark Henry, Miz & Morrison, and Tommy Dreamer).

At least he has actually wrestled a match on Smackdown, which is more than I expected. Rally up.

Did he ever turn though? He gets paired with the heels now but I don't remember him doing anything heelish. I remember when he had an akward encounter with the Boogeyman. Maybe that was it.

I have nothing to say about Mr. Rally up right now, except that he should be Kane fodder when Kane returns. Meantime, Ortiz needs to read some material on how to be more impressive.

Ah the latest member of the future endeavours club. As soon as I saw "WWE releases superstar who appeared on Smackdown last night" on the main page, I knew exactly who it would be.

See ya Ricky, rally up on finding employment.

Good riddance. Everything about him was basic and boring, and I'm glad to see him gone.

He was having weekly internet segments on WWE.com. They were called "Inspirational Thoughts of the Week". I checked out one, and I wasn't inspired.

You'd have to have hit rock bottom to be inspired by Ricky Ortiz.
