Default Eric Young vs CM Punk

Myself and BCR need help sorting out a dispute over who is the better heel at the moment. He maintains that it is Eric Young, I say CM Punk, so we put it to you to convince us on who it is.

He needs to give up the annoying pro-TNA bullshit already. There's not even a fucking argument to be made.

I'd like EY if he was in the WWE, ROH or even EPW. It's not about him being in TNA.

I can honestly say I'm enjoying EY as a heel too. I'd also like him regardless of the company he works for. As for the CM Punk/EY thing iono..Haven't been watching WWE long enough (properly) to give an answer to that.

Me and BCR can relate to EY and World Elite's pain being that neither of us are from the states

We feel their pain and struggle

This shouldn't even be a question. CM Punk is the best heel in WWE at the moment, while Eric Young is still getting comfortable in his position as leader of World Elite. Maybe one year from now the roles will be reversed but right now, Punk is the clear-cut winner.

Punk is captivating when he speaks and has excellent heel mannerisms. There is a reason why he was the heel chosen to take on the WWE's biggest face at the time, Jeff Hardy.

EY doesn't even come close to the heel that punk is.

Because Punk is straightedge.

And he's better than you.

Probably WWE haters. CM Punk is the best heel in the world at the moment. Nobody else comes close; not even Randy Orton. I'm not even convinced that Eric Young is the best heel in his own organization, though he is getting better.

Let's have them battle it out, shall we?

-CM Punk's only addiction is competition, EY's only addiction is piledriving Mexicans on the stage. - Round 1 goes to EY.
-CM Punk has a very clearcut heel role as the preachy Straight Edge guy, EY has a grey heel role as the guy who hates America and Americans but will team with Kevin Nash anyway. - Round 2 goes to CM Punk.
-CM Punk claims to be better than 10 000 people in attendance on any given night, EY's lucky to be better than a couple hundred on a soundstage. - Round 3 goes to CM Punk.
-CM Punk has no stable, EY leads a stable. - Round 4 goes to EY.
-CM Punk's stable does not include Davari or Doug Williams, EY's stable includes Davari and Doug Williams. - Round 5 goes to EY.
-CM Punk does not have to be associated with Rob Terry, EY has to be associated with Rob Terry. - Round 6 goes to CM Punk.
-CM Punk is feuding with R-Truth, EY is feuding with the whole USA (minus Kevin Nash). - Round 7 goes to EY.
-CM Punk's initials reportedly stand for Cookie Monster, EY's initials kind of make me think of Eeyore. - Round 8 is a draw.
-CM Punk steals most of his stuff from Japan, EY steals most of his stuff from the 80s. - Round 9 is a draw.
-CM Punk has one badass beard, EY is thusfar beardless. - Round 10 goes to CM Punk.
-CM Punk has cool tattoos, EY is inkless. - Round 11 goes to CM Punk.
-CM Punk heard your father walked into a restaurant and ate all the food in the restaurant and they had to close down the restaurant, EY didn't catch that rumor. - Round 12 goes to CM Punk.

Well, there we have it, a clear cut winner. CM Punk is Straight Edge, and that means he's better than You, Me, Eric Young, ODB, Mr. Kennedy, The Green Bay Packers, NCAA Basketball and Mirko CroCop all in one.

He can beg all he likes. He was awesome last year and has done pretty much nothing to change himself up since then. I actually thought about Jericho when I posted and decided that he didn't come close, either, though he does, in fact, come closer than Orton.

While I don't doubt Punk's greatness and him being number heel right now, I would argue with you that Jericho doesn't come close. He hasn't changed character much, if at all, this year but he does come close to Punk. He is an absolute heat magnet and knows exactly how to rile up the crowd. Every time he is on screen I, along with many others, are clinging to his every word, no matter how 'repetitive' he is. Not many people can hold my attention for great periods of time, but Jericho can and does every time. He also has a great interaction with the crowd and opponent during a match. Some don't like wrestlers shouting during matches but it comes off perfectly and so naturally with Jericho. It's like his second nature. As much as I love face Y2J, I wouldn't be too sad to never see him again, since Jericho is most definately up there with the best in the world right now.

I know these types of things are subjective(thus no right or wrong answers), but honestly is this a real question. I kinda like EY..a lil, but he's still trying to find his way as a heel. Punk has people hating his guts on the regular. So theres you answer.

A couple of things. Yes this is for real. BCR seriously does think that Eric Young is a better heel than CM Punk.

Secondly, if you want to know who voted for what.... just click on the number of votes and it will show you.

The 3 people who voted for Eric Young MUST be delusional. It's just another example of Vince Russo's crappy booking skills, rehashing yet another USA vs Canada feud.

If Eric was actually entertaining, then maybe I could understand. But taking a bunch of X-Division jobber's, renaming a useless title and creating a stable doesnt make you awesome in my eyes.

Whereas I have been a fan of CM Punk for 3 years. So, whatever.

There has been exactly one person who has made me want to watch WWE or TNA this year for each company. For WWE, it's CM Punk. For TNA, it's not Eric Young. In fact, on the rare occasion that I actually watched TNA, I found myself wishing he would get the fuck off my screen.

Hush, Eric owns lol. I gave a pitty vote seeing as I like punk, I just haven't been watching the E long enough to have a real opinion on him. I wouldn't have voted for anyone if it wasn't a whitewash lol

Eric Young isn't a heel because of his skills. He's a heel because he uses a piledriver and because he hates all Americans. Would that work outside of America? No way. He's not going to insult Canada, and if he insults America outside of America then he's going to be cheered as a face.

Having a good heel storyline does not in any way make you a good heel.

To play devil's advocate, my girlfriend knows I'm a huge CM punk mark and she seems to enjoy watching wrestling when he's on TV since that's when I'm most into it.

Anyways, she said he's boring with how he always says the same thing.

And I can't argue. Yes, I see how each promo is gold and how well he works, but to some people who aren't paying as close attention, it might sound like the same promo week in and week out. So I think it's safe to say some people might not be fans of his heel work.

I can't say i've seen much of EY since he's heel turn I dont watch WC..eerr i mean TNA that much.

But seriously I think the whole anti-American foriegn heel is way over done.I mean its efective in a away, id just like to see somthing original done with a heel that just happens to be from out side the US, not just "America sucks" BS that we always get.

Well, technically, as far as a wrestler is concerned; heat is heat. I don't care if they're booing me because I'm choking the guy, wearing the rival jersey, insulting their country, picking on that high school's principal, telling pro-Conservative places that I voted Liberal and pro-Liberal places that I voted Conservative, threatening to shoot a puppy, it doesn't matter. As long as they're booing me, cheering him and buying someone's t-shirts I'm doing my job.

What makes a good heel as far as a wrestler is concerned is knoing how to pace a match, how to tell a story, when and where to take a little break and when and where to really make them boo you.

In that regard, I don't think any of us can say who's the better heel. Did Undertaker let CM Punk lead their HIAC match? Probably, but I'll never know. Was EY the one calling the shots in the unforgivably sloppy atrocity that was the finish to their BFG match? Maybe, again though I'll never know.

All we can really go on here is who's getting the bigger reactions and who we prefer. Grading on a curve (since TNA is in front of 1000 if they're lucky and WWE is in front of 15 000) I still say Punk gets the bigger reactions, and I personally prefer him. But then again, I also dissected it above much better.
