The honorable one and respected Mexican ambassador of the WWE
Number 2: the comebacks…? Hello everyone. After a perhaps long hiatus I’m ready to get back to writing some columns. A lot of things happened in the last weeks, we have a new champion in Smackdown in the face of CM Punk, who won the belt after a really good tables in the Extreme Rules PPV between Edge and Jeff Hardy, as good as CM Punk is as a champion, I really wanted that either Edge or Jeff Hardy carried the division for a little longer, but let see what are the plans for CM Punk, at least for what I saw last Friday we can only expect good matches and a really interesting heel turn . RAW seems well not the best show right now and ECW keeps improving every week. The last time I wrote a column I was telling some facts of my life and how I got to be a wrestling fan, and I used to tell that I will not be missing any WWE show and there would be no reason for me to stop watching. Well after one pandemic disease and the decision of the university to teach us what we see normally in 2 months in only 3 weeks and also with exams, practically my priority became the school and I stop watching the WWE. What does it has to do with me writing a column, apart from apologize with the LOP wrestling community started to think what happens when after you being apart from something you clearly love, for some reason or another you have to stop doing it, you name it a sport, a TV show, the school, seeing a girl, but then you return because you just can’t be without that thing and you return, only to realize that a lot of things have changed and he atmosphere seems kind of weird, whatever happens to the wrestlers that come back and realize this. But what does it has to do when wrestling, well with the wrestlers are the same thing, they return to only realize that nothing is the same and that affects their status in the company. And it seems that the WWE takes advantage of this when they fired wrestlers before they can have a chance to shine again. For you to be successful, sacrifices must be made. It’s better that they are made by others but failing that, you’ll have to make them yourself. Rita Mae Brown Making a comeback? Perhaps the saddest part is when you don’t want to stop but you have to, and in a business when all that matters is that you stay relatively healthy it is even worse because unless you are a main star the wrestler has to star from the beginning and he or she has to give almost the 200% just to not being released. I started to read again the columns in the LOP forums and I realized that many wrestlers were being released because of his injuries, here comes some examples: Ken Kennedy ![]() you know he could be the main eventer that the WWE hoped to be but he just can’t stay healthy, and in the WWE universe that is never a good thing, but that never bothered Mr. McMahon, but you know that when other wrestlers start to complain about your work because you could injured them, and when the complains comes from the champion, well it’s just matter of time before you get released. The good thing is that he is a good wrestler who can get a good TNA spot with a lighted schedule, and maybe he can return another time. Candice Michelle. ![]() First let me say that I am a big fan of Candice Michelle, I thought she was going to become the new Trish Stratus, you know a former model who learned the basics of wrestling and become the biggest diva of all time, and she was in the way of becoming the best of all time, she was already a champion, which means that Mr. McMahon trust in her to carry the women division, but then in a rematch for the championship she would get injured really awful when she practically cracked her clavicle and that was the beginning of a series of injuries that never stopped bothering her. But then it seemed that her luck was about to change when she got drafted to RAW, a new beginning was all that she needed, she was known for her hard work and for her willingness to improve, but suddenly she got released, apparently because there was some problems with her weight and because of her age there was some concern about her keeping her looks… ok I have to be diplomatic and I don’t want to be the first one to actually gets mad but come on that’s a really stupid decision. It must sucks to be a woman a not be really appreciated for your hard work and only realize that all that matters is your looks, I know that she knew that she was hired because of her looks, I mean she was one of the participants in the diva search competition, and a lot of women use the advantage of her looks to became someone but it got to hurt when for the same reason that you were hired now that apparently is gone, which I doubt sincerely, you are fired. Maybe she was out of shape but what do the writers expected, she was injured and she couldn’t work out, I really hope that she can return to the company to prove the idiot who made the decision of fire her how wrong he was. The good thing is that she is very talented and not only for wrestling and she will have a lot of projects to work. Paul Burchill ![]() Ok so he isn’t fired but he hasn’t worked in the ring in quite a while and that is because his brother recently passed away in Afghanistan , Major Sean Burchill. And before that he was working as a jobber in ECW so the future doesn’t seems bright for this superstar, he is a good worker but the priorities for him right now is to stay with his family and maybe when he gets better he could return to the ring I just hope that the executives don’t fire him just because they need to save some money, sometimes there something more than money in life. I just hope that he can comeback and make an impact when he returns, he actually a talented wrestler who can adapt to almost any kind of wrestling style, he just need to have the opportunity and I know that he could benefit a lot from that, and we as a fans could be benefited also. I just hope that the WWE don’t fire him that would really suck. Pain makes a man think, thought makes a man wise. Wisdom makes life endurable. I just could imagine myself being a wrestler and seeing that some of you co-workers or friends are just being let go because they couldn’t stay healthy or just because they keep you sidelined and they don’t even give you a chance to comeback, I can realize why they decide to work injured but that would have a negative effect in their bodies in the long term, there are rumors that the reason Edge is not having a long Championship reign right now is because he is working injured and they don’t want to take a risk, you know the only one who can get injured and be a champion is Batista and HHH, that’s some really bad news because he could benefit with a long reign, but he just keep having a lot of dangerous matches, you know gimmick matches are OK from one time to another but when they are having this matches every month you know Is a bad idea, same goes with Jeff Hardy apparently in the eyes of the writers they can’t have good matches if they don’t have a gimmick stipulation involved. Too bad they work in a company that never has an off season. You can only work as a wrestler for some time, like any other sports when you get older you don’t perform at the same level, some wrestlers have acknowledge this and they don’t put their bodies on the line every day, but the ones that do that already are established stars, the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels already put their bodies on the line many times and they demand a time off every once in a while to heal their bodies, and they respond to that confidence with great matches when they return to the wrestling ring, and they don’t get lazy because they get special favors, their match in the last Wrestlemania proves it. And there are other wrestlers who just don’t seem to take cares of his bodies, the prime example is Rick Flair, ![]() man he is truly a wrestler to admire but in the last years he took bumps that weren’t necessary for someone of his age, he had a TLC match against Edge to “prove” himself that he could beat the Rated-R in his own environment, well that didn’t turn out well, he lost and he was left in the ring bloodied. Also I remember a really hardcore match in ECW against the then champion the Big Show when he also took some unnecessary risks because back then the big show was a badass who literally destroyed all of his opponents, right now with an elbow in the back he is almost done but when he was the ECW champion he was getting the push and the credibility that a man of his size deserved, but the main point was that Rick Flair didn’t have to put his body in the line. The main point is that there are times that they don’t have to take necessary risks. The negative effects for only one night to please the fans are just not worthy, but maybe they have to do it. Darren Aronofsky showed it in the film “the wrestler” that Randy “the Ram” Robinson has a hardcore match against the Necro Butcher in an independent wrestling federation, maybe all of us has a price where we are willing to put our bodies on risk. the only thing that we have to do is to give the guys some respect because they are willing to put their bodies on the line just to give a good show to the fans. With that being told I finish the second column. I’m Alex reporting from Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico saying good night good fight |

Well this was a major improvement from your first column Alex!
I'm not going to rip on you for the spelling and grammar, since I know you're doing your best for someone who speaks English as a second language. By the way, the grammar was better than your first column, so that's good to see! Things to improve on: *Try and give more opinions and less facts. We all know that Punk is the new champion and who was released, but how does that make YOU feel? What do YOU think? *Try and space out your headings and pictures more clearly. Sometimes you were talking about one superstar, and then started talking about another one without really spacing yourself. Also, try and post images that are roughly the same size, because if not, it'll look silly! Anyways, hope I was able to help, and read you next time man! |

This was a pretty solid column. I didn't read your previous effort but for I second column I like it. Like Chriss said try to spend more time on the look and spacing of the column and add more opinion. Read you next time.

A few things to work on here Manuell.
Firstly, capital letters. There were a lot of times throughout this column when a capital letter was not used. Even though English is your second language, capital letters should still be used. As others have pointed out, spacing can be improved. Space your titles and pictures out evenly, I'd also personally suggest centering pictures and sub-headings as it makes it look prettier so to speak. Overall, it was good to see you weren't just a one hit wonder and that you decided to come back. Keeping working on this as I enjoyed this and you have potential. You bring a decent personality to your columns which is always good. Keep up the good work.
