I know how that is, it is 5am where I am and I am working! You should try your hand in the CF one of these days. Of course, if you don't make sheep happy with your "talk" then he may just nuke any column you do write.

K-Zone sports presents coverage of the Stable Wars draft.
Kafu: That's right sports fans we're here on the K-Zone sports network for another Stable Wars draft update. Last time we were with you Mazza had just selected John Cena (2002) in the second round. Pepper Brooks: That's an interesting pick right there as Cena doesn't really have any usage to a team other than maybe as an enforcer/upstart there. He's never been in a long time tag team or part of a stable. Kafu: Right you are Pepp. With the next pick Saint Steve picked The Big Show (2004). I gotta say Pepp, I don't think this is a good pick. Pepper: Big Show in 2004 is a good pick, but only if he's going to be used as an enforcer. I'm sure Saint Steve has a strategy here, possibly planning to put Big Show in the time machine? I worry what Saint Steve's strategy is here as it seems like he is just picking big guys. Unfortunately a balanced team is neccessary in this contest. Kafu: Moving on, Top Shelf has picked up Shelton Benjamin, or Benji, (2007). Going with Brock Lesnar in (2004). Pepp, interesting choice here. Pepper: According to the great and allmighty wikipedia it seems Shelton spent most of he's 2007 time on heat. 2006 is a bad year for Shelton as well and we really don't want to see Shelton's momma picked up as a manager. Possible Time Machine pick here. Kafu: With the next pick, Team E...B...4 drafted Johnny Nitro (2006). Getting in before he's run as a part of the best damn tag team in the 21st Century, Team Dirt Sheet, this is an interesting one isn't it Pepp? Pepper: Right you are there Mr K. Nitro here probably doesn't have a lot of use to a stable in 2006 aside from as an upstart, but time machine him 2 years forward and you have the makings of a great tag team. Kafu: With the 25th pick in the draft Pepper: What? Kafu: Team Coolio Pepper: What? Kafu: selects the Texas Rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin Pepper: What? Kafu: Austin joins Randy Orton in 2009 and I am interested Pepper: What? Kafu: In where this could go as Austin and Orton are both guys who don't follow orders Pepper: What? Kafu: Although there are options here including moving Orton back to 2003 Pepper: What? Kafu: Or moving Austin to an upstart or a tag team role as the Hollywood Blondes Pepper: What? Kafu: So I'm thinking a time machine pick here. Moving on now, the next pick was Kane (2002) for team Ca$hmoney. Your thoughts Pepp? Pepper: Kane would make a great enforcer at this time period, as I think it was when he was most dominant in WWE, but we also shouldn't forget that Kane can make a great upstart or tag team guy by going through the Time Machine. Definitely a very versatile pick here who could fit into a lot of strategies. Kafu: And the most recent pick so far, T.O selected Arn Anderson to join Ric Flair, both from 1989. Pepper: Arn Anderson is probably going to be an enforcer here. This pick just makes sense and I think a lot of people called it as soon as T.O picked Flair. It's a smart strategy here as the two just go together so well. Arn Anderson is a great enforcer, quite possibly the best ever. Kafu: Well that concludes this recent K-Zone sports Stable Wars draft recap. Coming up soon we have Xanman, Shockey, Deception's double picks, and L-Harr, and by the end of this round we should have a better idea of what overall strategies are being formed. Until next time, bye for now.

Yup. Ill be manualing it from now on, too. I'm around more than I thought I'd be, lol.
According to my calculations, el Hijo de Shockey is up. Surly, time limits have run out, but I don't know if we should proceed without our chairmen. Last edited by Deception; 03-24-2009 at 10:25 PM. |

K-Zone Sports Coverage: Trades
Kafu: Right now while the draft is taking a break we're going to take a look at some of the trades that have gone down. So far there have only been 3 trades made but as we get further and further into this, and we start seeing more and more picks made, the list of talent that can fit into a stable is going to decrease. Pepper: That's right K. Basically, a good trade can get you an earlier pick and can get you a talented guy before someone else picks him. Kafu: Sheepster has made some surprisingly strange trades which have left him with 4 picks in a row crossing rounds 4 and 5 but he has no picks between Round 1 and Round 4. Pepper: Obviously he has something in mind with those picks and he must think that he's guys are going to still be available then, but previous Stable Wars drafts have given us surprising results in the past and it would be no shocker if this draft was the same. Kafu: In turn Deception managed to get 2 picks in a row in the second round and that right there gives him a huge advantage in strategy. Pepper: Yeah two picks in a row are a great chance to pick an established tag team, ecspecially this early in the draft. Of cause, you still have to use them well once you have them. Kafu: Myself and Saint Steve had a good trade. I swapped my 4th round pick for Saint Steve's 3rd round pick. Pepper: It sounds unbalanced on paper, but it gives you an earlier pick at some good talent in exchange for having to wait longer to pick your manager, while Saint Steve gets an earlier crack at the manager he wanted. This deal makes sense to both of you and is a chance to really put some strategy to work. It's two picks close together which are normally good for a tag team. Kafu: Finally, LHARR has come out a lucky winner as well getting two picks in a row and three out of four picks across the 2nd/3rd rounds thanks to a trade with Sheepster and in return he's only dropped down 2 places in the 5th round. LHARR has definitely got a huge advantage over the other competitors with those picks. Pepper: I have to agree with you there. That is a really good trade by LHARR. Kafu: That concludes this K-Zone stable wars draft update, we'll be back soon with more meaningless analysis. Watch out for more possible trades, and until next time it's bye for now.

Sorry.
Repo is apparently busy, and my WiFi at work is down (had to leech off of someone else to make my pick). I'll post the rest of round two within an hour. LHARR, do I have a pick for you for round 2? I can't find it in my PMs. Also, I'll clear up and reset the draft order before round 3 begins. Last edited by T.O.; 03-25-2009 at 12:10 AM. |
