Do you think reading spoilers and being on the forums has taken away from your enjoyment of wrestlin

Do you think reading spoilers and being on the forums has taken away from your enjoyment of wrestling or added to it? Lately since I have become a poster and have read a lot more (especialy spoilers) I seem to have a lot less moment where I mark out are am truly suprised by the product and the curveballs it throws me. I am a huge TNA fan and am a long time fan of the WWE and just now have recently come back to it. (by coming back watchign religously. I was dvring it and fast fowarding threw a lto because until nexus and the new miz push I was just kinda over it) I really enjoyed what happend at summer slam with dainel brianson and was really impressed and that was the first time in a long time that I rember marking out (well that and the hard core justice pay per view but that was more because it was so bad it was AWSOME!) in a long time. I would love tosee you imput and see how you all feel about it and see if being on the forumns and reading the dirt sheets and spoilers has added or taken away from your wrestling viewing experience.

    Daniel...Brianson?

    What?

On the topic at hand, not really for me. Sometimes, spoilers clue me in on whether or not I'm going to enjoy the show. For instance, anytime I read TNA spoilers, I know I'm going to hate the show or certain segments, so I either don't watch them, or watch them and laugh at how bad they are. But yeah, spoilers don't take away from my wrestling enjoyment.

Did I spell his name wrong? How am I suppose to spell it shockey so I can fix it. I agree with you to me it adds flavor and lets me know if the show is going to be good and if I should go out of my way to make time to watch it. I just haven't had as many of those mark out moments and those shocked moment as a use to have. I had a lot of those during the Monday night wars era and that might be part of it. The product right now isn't as good as it was back then and that might be why I haven't enjoyed it as much.

Reading wrestling websites has only made me a bigger fan because knowing some of the ins and outs of how the business works has made the business more interesting to me.

As far as spoilers go, I have learned to steer clear of them as much as possible. The only time I read spoilers is when I know I'm not going to have a chance to watch the show when it airs, so I check out spoilers to see what I should look for afterwords.

Usually when I read Smackdown spoilers on Tuesday I forget most of it by Friday. I like to read TNA spoilers just to see whats going on because I never watch the show. I take most of the news I read with a grain of salt because in the end it is the internet and everything on the internet is not 100% fact.

Forums on the other hand have added to my enjoyment of wrestling because you get to talk with other fans and debate and discuss topics. It is especially nice because not many of my friends watch wrestling anymore so there is little discussion with them. The best time was the WWE chat room before it became the "universe." That was my first introduction to the IWC and I loved it.

Not really for the simple fact that I avoid outright spoilers. Knowing who they're planning to push and who's in the doghouse isn't a big issue for me because a) it's usually obvious just from watching the show and b) they change it all the damn time anyway. I don't really care if I "know" that Sheamus is supposed to face Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell because I also "knew" that Undertaker was supposed to face Kane at Summerslam, and that either Kofi Kingston or R-Truth was supposed to be enjoying a main event push right about now.

Never forget August 20, 2010, the day LOP took a stand by banding together and struttin' that ass.

Don't read spoilers. The conversation is nice because I don't talk about wrestling anywhere else but here.

Not really in terms of the messageboard thing. Maybe when it comes to spoilers. I tend to avoid a lot of the spoilers, though not consciously. I will occassionally check out SD spoilers or an Impact spoiler. But generally, reading a spoiler does effect how genuine my reaction to something might be. Like if I knew Hall was jumping to WCW back in 96 it would still be cool but not much of a surprise. I like to get the raw and genuine reaction to something that happens without developing some pre-conceived opinon based on a spoiler.

As for the forums, I don't think it has taken away from my enjoyment because despite the views held by my follow boardmates, I'll still maintain my own likes and dislikes. I'm kind of like the "tweener mark". I can watch wrestling like the "regular mark" and not really consciously think about workrate and such. I will watch for pure enjoyment without thinking too deeply about the match. But I can also watch for that kind of stuff too if necessary. I like the forums because you have a variety of opinions on somethng that most of us can't talk about in our every day lives. I'm pretty lucky to have like 3 good friends who watch wrestling. But ofcourse I don't talk to them about it daily.

Personally I enjoy reading all of the spoilers, and info. The only time I don't read the spoilers or check out the sight, is when there is a PPV or something big, because I like to be suprised to some extent...a few of the things I enjoy reading about the most are HBK news, and Miz news..

I hate spoilers. It takes all the suspense out of watching a show when you already know what's going to happen.

I'm enjoying myself in the forum. Making threads, posting replies. Being in the forum gave me a chance to express my thoughts and views about wrestling with fans from UK and Ireland. This is cool man.

I wont read show spoilers but i will read the other bits of news. I like knowing who is backstage and where people are thinking of going to and what their mindsets are. Running my own streaming site allows for plenty of discussion with people that enjoy wrestling as much as i do as i dont have many friends that like it. It has spoilt my enjoyment somewhat as you can know too much but it is what it is and i can choose what i read.

I think the negativity takes much more of a toll than spoilers. Watching something and reading something make for two diff experiences. Even igf I read it, I can still enjoy what I watch more than what i read.
