Pinfall or submission?
Not a huge shock, as she's been leading for several months, but she officially won the Republican nomination today.

Good topic...unfortunately with some of the visitors to the wrestling threads I can see this turn into "Ohs Noes!!!~```~!12!2#2412!!! WWEPG will b 4eva!!1`1`!!12421!12311!"
She's not going to win though. Its unfortunate to a certian degree for the business, too, because it can never hurt to have affiliations in high places.
Yeah, it'd pretty much take a swerve of Russo-like proportions for her to beat Blumenthal.
What if the election is a work? How great would it be to see WrestleMania 27 main evented by HHH (w/ Linda McMahon) vs John Cena (w/ Blumenthal) with the Senate seat on the line.
Agreed. I'm sick of this senatorial run being used as a scapegoat of the IWC for the PG rating.
It's not like as soon as she loses in November, Randy Orton is gonna hit Sheamus with a chair square in the head, causing Sheamus to bleed, all while Randy is cursing and flipping the crowd off, all while scantily clad women dance on stripper poles outside the ring.
If I wanted to watch that shit, I'd watch Impact more often.
Nah she won't win. Blumenthal will win for the same reason people like Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters continue to win. The electorate are generally idiots. CT is a heavily blue state and it would take a major blunder by Blumenthal to lose. Not to say Linda probably won't dig up every last piece of dirt she can.

It has nothing to do with her ties to WWE. The fact is, that unless Blumenthal rapes a child on national television, he will win. It is basically impossible for a Democrat to lose in Connecticut when you consider that there are twice as many registered Democrats as registered Republicans.
I personally don't think she'll win unless people in CT are sick of the Democrats and their out of control spending as most of the country is.
However, on the off chance she does win, will that be considered a sign of the Apocalypse?
I'm pretty much sick of people who bitch about the PG brand period. Seriously, it's NOT that serious and it hasn't been significantly responsible for the decline in ratings since the Attitude Era. People have got to learn to either adapt and accept that "Tits and Ass Galore" is no more, or go pop in Porky's if they want to relive their teen-hormonal rages again.
"I never saw Frank, Dean, Sammy, or Peter drunk during performances. That was only a gag! And do you believe these guys had to chase broads? They had to chase 'em away!"
I had a good laugh when a news channel was talking about Linda's campaign. I forget the channel, but this was the exchange:
News Guy #1: "Are you a fan of WWE?"
News Guy #2: "No, not really."
News Guy #1: "Full Disclosure here, we are shareholders."
News Guy #2: "Oh, they're a great company!"
That's pretty much how I feel Dark Crusader. While T and A Galore was great during the Attitude Era, it wasn't the only reason to watch WWF (Austin vs. McMahon, DX, The Rock etc.). I was a big WWE fan long before Attitude Era and while I'm not as a big a fan now, I'm still a fan of today's product.
Same here. I was a fan before the Attitude Era came, and continued to be a fan after. I enjoyed it while it lasted, but I also realized that things don't stay the same. Evolution (no pun intended) is needed in order for the product to progress. As you stated, it was Austin, The Rock, DX, Undertaker, Jericho, Kane, and others that got my attention the most. All of the rest in between was just a bonus.
Like people have been saying, the WWE will be PG after Linda's run for Senate.
"I never saw Frank, Dean, Sammy, or Peter drunk during performances. That was only a gag! And do you believe these guys had to chase broads? They had to chase 'em away!"
Jesus Christ! Who was she running against, Hitler and Bin Laden? Those are two on the very short of people more morally bankrupt than Linda McMahon. Plus, how do you fuck up a campaign against her. Like, tons of people that worked for her over the last thirty have DIED UNDER THE AGE OF FIFTY. It's simple, start showing the names of dead wrestlers and then say "If Linda McMahon can't take care of her employees, how can she take care of the people of Connecticut. Also, invoke the name of Chris Benoit. If I'm debating her, every answer would be "Chris Benoit!"
"How do you plan to deal with the state economic crisis?"
"Chris Benoit"
"What are your thoughts on immigration reform?"
"Chris Benoit"
This shouldn't be hard. Christ, people who watch the WWE shouldn't be put in positions of responsibility, let alone someone who ran it.
I still say this should be a WrestleMania match.
Welp...It looks like her political opponents dug up footage of the Million Dollar Man humiliating some female fan from waaaaaaaaay back in the day and put it out as "Her husband demeans women". The clip was played on John King USA. I tweeted him to let him know that the guy in the video was in fact the Million Dollar Man character. I wonder if they'll eventually correct it.
I mean if they wanted to make that case they could have atleast picked footage that actually showed Vince. They wouldn't have even have to dig that far back either. I facepalm myself whenever the media brings up something that they obviously have no clue about(rap music and wrestling most notably). I'm not from Connecticut and I haven't taken a look at her political policies but if Blumenthal uses attacks..atleast let them be accurate.

Exactly.
I mean, they could have used this:
EDIT: In fact, I'm sure if you type "Vince McMahon" and "humiliating women" into YouTube you'll get thousands of videos.
At least be accurate.

Actually, she basically wasn't running against anybody. Her main opponent dropped out early on, and then decided he was still running 4 weeks before the election. Plus, senatorial primaries tend to be more casual than acutal elections because they don't want to fuck their party over when it comes to the actual election.
Supposedly, Blumenthal's first video was something along the lines of "Do you want a senator who kicks men in the nuts" and shows a few clips of her doing that.
Coincidence with the WWE's recent crackdown on YouTube?
The McMahons are PARANOID on any of their footage being used improperly during this election.
I'm calling it. HHH pedigrees Blumenthal during the debate. Raises the hand of Linda, only to drop her with a pedigree setting up a three way dance for the Senate seat. Vince in Linda's corner, Steph backing HHH and Shane siding with Bluementhal.

I don't see how Chris beniot's death is her fault. i doubt she made him abuse drugs and kill his wife and kid. We must remember that these Wrestlers are Adults! if they take drugs and kill themselves it's Their fault! She is not a babysitter and we are responsible for our own decisions in life. If i decided to start smoking crack at my job and OD'ed whose fault is it me or my boss? it's mine and no on else is to blame
Here it comes!
Its not her fault, BUT, that won't stop a political opponent from making these wrestler deaths stick to her. All they have to do is claim that the WWE fostered an environment that either condoned or encouraged a certain lifestyle that led to those deaths. As I stated before, most non fans are not that saavy to the business so its easier to lead them when they already have a negative perception of wrestling. I mean, the Million Dollar Man became Linda's husband yesterday on CNN.

Blumenthal is a tool for trying to make it sound like he was in Vietnam (served in the Marine Corp Reserves) and was the captain of the Harvard Swim Team (never happened).
But I'd rather have that than someone who model's their economic policy off of Reaganomics, which is arguably the worst shit ever.
More material for Blumenthal's campaign with Cade's death. It could get ugly.
And last night I thought about all of the potential landmines for McMahon's campaign. You got Vince saying "whats up my nigga" on a ppv, You got that bark like a dog stuff. You have all the violent acts and overly sexual stuff from the attitude era, throw in the wrestler deaths and links to steroids. Headache central if they decide to get dirty.

Just looking at the recent polls in a few Google searches, Linda is only around 10% down which I don't think is a poor batting average considering her opponents party is dominant. The woman knows media, and truthfully, there's some people in D.C. I'd like to kick in the nuts myself.
She was impressive in the few interviews I've seen, not the normal catatonic garbage I'm used to seeing from Linda on tv in character. They tried to get her to pick on Blumenthal's Vietnam scandal and she wouldn't. The best I think Linda can hope for is the race to get within a few points, Blumenthal starts running attack ads, and Linda pounces on him for not sticking to the issues.
Two words: Basil Marceaux!
