My next entry will be my favorite non-Bret related Owen Hart match.

From 1991 and took place in Japan, against no other then Jushin "Thunder" Liger.

Owen did a few tours over in Japan and this match may have been his finest from the land of the rising sun. This match includs a few spots that have floated over the internet over the years. Enjoy.

Alex Wright had tremendous tallent and had been in the company for almost 5 years when this happened. Disco can go fuck himself. But this lead to the repackaging in which, that's right, Alex Wright was once again missused. Should have been huge. Really huge.

The match was full of win, and despite the ending (which I thought was also done well but others may not) I believe should be viewed as it shows the greatness of what Tag Team wrestling in the WWE/F can be. Even if they throw together a team.


Notes: The fans were tired as this was an end of a three+ hour taping so the deadness isn't more then crowd fatigue.

The jailhouse match itself was pretty good, but everything that came after it when the Mountie was being taken away to jail and booked was the best thing about the whole concept. Pure comedy gold.

No problem. Like I said it was a very good match and one that I’ve watched often. Many many many years ago before there was such a thing as DVD’s we had something called VCR’s which played video tape and because SNME was always on too late for my brothers and I to stay up and watch we’d always record it and for some reason this was one copy we never recorded over so we watched it so much that it wore the tape out. The whole card itself including this match was pretty decent if I remember correctly the 4 matches that aired were George “The Animal” Steele vs. “Dangerous” Danny Davis, Hulk Hogan vs. King Kong Bundy, & Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Hercules. Savage vs. Hart however was by far the best match of the night.

Even though the match ended up not happening on RAW last night we have seen Bret Hart and the Undertaker wrestle before. They’ve gone at it in the ring several times with one another, but I believe (and most people probably agree) that their best and most important match was at SummerSlam 1997 for the WWE Championship. Not only was Bret Hart in the midst of his heel run as leader of the Hart Foundation, and not only did this match begin to lay the groundwork for the match at the Survivor Series of the same year but it also marks what would turn out to be Bret’s fifth and final run as the WWE Championship and is further proof why he is arguably the greatest performer in SummerSlam history.

As for the entire PPV it was actually one of the better SummerSlam's. Not only because of the main event, but also the cage match between Triple H and Mankind along with the IC Championship match between Owen Hart & Steve Austin which is unfortunately the match where Austin broke his neck.
