Well people it’s time for another edition of Tales of Tyler. Were are currently up to Eighteen columns. Today will be more of a simpler column. We will get into some Over the Limit Predictions, have the Top 10 from this week, and to top it all off, were going to have a mini-rant/motivational speech. I want to take the time to remind each and everyone of you loyal readers out there to leave feedback. I am absolutely nothing with out feedback. I’ll ask the questions right here and now. Am I speaking to you people? Are my sections appropriately spaced out through the column? Are there any things I should maybe look into changing/improving? Am I actually writing decent columns? Alright now lets get onto the show before you all kill me.
The Crystal Ball
Over the Limit Predictions
Intercontinental Championship
Drew McIntyre(C) vs. Kofi Kingston
I think this would be a good match up to start the night out. Could possibly be Match of the Night, if these two can get it together quick enough. I think this just might be the first time that these two have ever matched up. Which certainly adds a lot of intrigue to it. The back story and feud itself has the possibility to be extraordinary, and primed to be a long drawn out feud. Part of me wonders though whether that would really be a good idea, seeing as we are firmly upon the next generation stars to take their leap to main event. McIntyre and Kingston both being two that could very well be the crop of them. So, why would WWE want to draw out this battle when it could very well be the forefront of the next 10 years. That being said I can not see Drew losing the belt here……McIntyre for 10/10
R-Truth vs. Ted DiBiase
I don’t quite understand this being on the card. I love Ron Killings, but I absolutely hate his gimmick. John Morrison should be the one in this match, not Truth. Nevertheless though, I can’t see DiBiase losing, and all the momentum he has built up since Wrestle Mania to just go out the door here……DiBiase for 10/10
Divas Championship
Eve Torres(C) vs. Mayse
Words still can’t describe how much the I hate the way Vince is treating the woman’s division currently. So expect a LOT of words to describe it in my next column, where the whole thing will be treated much to the likes of how I did the TNA ones, only all wound up in one, maybe two, depending on size, columns… *takes breath of air*… Eve Torres for 6/10
Unified Tag Team Championship
Hart Dynasty(C) vs. Jizz
I like this feud a whole lot, as it continues keeping the Tag Titles at all time heights as far as credibility goes. There is no way in hell that I see Jizz winning the belts. I do see Jericho turning on Miz after losing though setting up a wonderful feud between the two. As for the Harts I see them feuding with the Colons thereafter……Hart Dynasty for 10/10
World Heavyweight Championship
Jack Swagger(C) vs. Big Show
Jack Swagger has built up so much credibility since WM it isn’t even funny. The guy literally went from being a guy I never paid attention too, to a guy that is becoming one of my favorite rising stars. Show is thrown into this match, and it is going to add some more credibility to Swagger as Champ. Credibility that just keeps on amounting. I mean lets look at the opponents that he has beaten for the title over his short reign as champ. Chris Jericho. Edge. Randy Orton. And soon enough Big Show. All four are with out a doubt going to be in the WWE Hall of Fame, and are some of the biggest stars of 2000’s. Theres no way Swagger loses it……Swagger for 10/10
Randy Orton vs. Edge
Oh my have I loved this feud so far. It has seemingly gave us a break from the over blown out Cena-Batista feud. Believe me this feud has a load of fuel still left in it to go, and could very well end up being the Feud of the Year. Edge will be the one most likely to lose though. Only way he picks up a W is by disqualification. Orton needs this not only to continue his ever amounting momentum, but to also keep this feud on the edge(pun intended)……Orton for 10/10
SES Pledge vs. Hair
CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
I am really going to be disappointed if Rey gets the victory here. He has had the upper hand ever since this rivalry started, and it would be pointless to end it with him on top. Especially considering he is in need of knee surgery soon. Punk needs the win, to keep not only his hair but his credibility as a main eventer. I see great things for Mr. Punk for the remainder of the year. But him losing to Mysterio could greatly alter the course to that……Punk for 5.1/10
I Quit Match for the WWE Championship
John Cena(C) vs. Batista
Hmm. Another one sided affair. Cena has been on top since this started. Batista has looked like nothing but a cheap imitation of nothingness. It started off great with him getting the upper hand on Cena constantly. But has since took a turn for the worse, and looking back on it, he was basically booked to look like a big goof, who needed a surprise element to get anything. His heel work though has been something special, and it’d be disappointing not to see him use that magic with anybody but just Cena. Here’s to Cena’s reign lasting till November……Cena for 10/10
Wow, looking back on my picks and ratings it looks as if there is no way in hell I would buy this since every bout is seemingly predictable, which is never a good thing. You could even take that a step farther and say that every bout is predictable since the only thing holding back the Punk-Mysterio rating is Vince’s obsession with the midget always winning. This could also turn out to be one of the better ppv’s if, that is only if more than 50% of the matches go the other way. I hope you all like the system that I have worked up. The lower the score for Over the Limit, the better it will be. So Vince, take a look at this column, and just think, you want the lowest score possible if your ppv is going to be a success at all.
Top 10
Here we are with This Week In Pro Wrestling.
10. Christian-Horny?
Christian saving Little Bastard last week points all fingers into Christian not getting any sort of push in the near future which brings a tear to my eye. =‘[
9. Daniel Bryan Danielson
The recent storyline arising for this guy has peaked my interest in him to an all time high. I can’t wait to see where it goes for him here on out. I would love him joining the Hart Dynasty to give them another edge to a great group.
8. Sting
What the hell has this guy done to deserve a shot at the World Title? Last I checked his match against Jarrett at Sacrifice was cut to 30 seconds because of a still injured shoulder. That along with his age nearing 74, should be enough to say hey, give someone else the shot.
7. nWo
Scott Hall got arrested and banned for life from a bar this weekend. If this doesn’t get him sent to the curve, then you can un pack your bags because the oldies are officially staying till the demise of TNA.
6. NXT
Who knows what the direction of NXT is anymore. They eliminated yet another contestant, in Darren Young. Which brings the competition down to four folks. With I believe a little over a month left in season one, I think we could possibly be in store for some great television. NXT would be a great show for the upcoming launch of WWE Network. Hopefully it still garners some sort of attention and is able to stick around.
5. The Shit Called the Top Ten Contenders
In my last column I did my top 10 on who I thought should be in the Top Ten Contenders that TNA has. After comparing mine to there’s this past Thursday night, I have came to the conclusion that Hogan just doesn’t get the fact that old is not going to sell.
4. Commercial Free My Ass
I was looking forward to a lot of good matches. I was honestly expecting at the very least 6 or 7 bouts on this weeks Raw. A lot of good, long bouts. Instead we get the average of 4. Now don’t get me wrong, 3 of them were main event quality, while one was plain n’ stupid, while one of the main event caliber ones, lasted all of 10 seconds. Christian vs. Edge, did not falter. It was probably one of the better matches that I have seen in awhile. It basically has me salivating over their blockbuster potential feud. But back to what I was talking about. WWE promotes a commercial free episode, then gives us an episode full of promos, and rip off commercials. While rendering us with not much of anything match wise. I was entertained don’t get me wrong, but somebody please call foul here!
3. Tough Enough
News has sparked up over WWE potentially looking into returning the old Tough Enough series. This in my mind would be a great idea on WWE’s part. It would particularly bode well for the possible WWE Network debut this summer. It would be that reality TV feel to a wrestling program, and could possibly open up many, many more doors to other potential shows on WWE Network. Other news has been circulating also, that Eric Bischoff is trying to put together a Tough Enough rip off for TNA this summer. If both of these ideas get operated right, and put out there this summer, than this could very well be a jump start into making ‘rasslin more popular. It would also spark some more competition between the company’s along with the much needed press.
2. TNA Tapes Four Weeks In Three Days
Slammiversary is the next pay per view in line for TNA. It is suppose to be TNA’s version of Summer Slam. As one of the big ppv’s the company puts on. Something of this magnitude certainly deserves a lot hype and build up you would think. Yet TNA taped all four episodes of iMPACT in the three day this week. So basically, the card is set and ready to go a mere four days following the most recent ppv. This is some bogus booking on there part. They’re leaving three and a half fucking weeks for anything to happen. With everything in place for Slammiversary, it would be a big hit, if say one of the performers were to get injured. Just imagine, if Kurt Angle was playing some catch up basketball with an old friend one day this week, and while playing he tore his ACL. Now, that leaves one man not only useless for anything in the next 6 months of recovery, but it also screws up all the booking and already taped up iMPACT’s set to air in the next three weeks. So how do you cover this all up? You’d basically have to set up the crew again and re-shoot all those segments he was involved in, and figure something else to do for the amounts of time that he took up. Stupid, stupid booking on there part.
1. More Questions, Still No Answers
Once again, this past weeks episode of iMPACT continued to disappoint. Even more questions have been asked and still not answers have been dished out. It is even more confusing when you know what the spoilers are for the next four weeks. Not knowing the spoilers alone though gets it this weeks number one.
Finale
Alright so that does it for the eighteenth edition of Tales of Tyler. My apologies for the late posting. I spent the past night at my girlfriends and all day down there helping for her sisters graduation. It was a fun day, to say the least. But anyways this column was wrote up on Saturday, and was going to be posted immediately following board reset, which is now, since I only got back an hour or so ago.
Be on the look out for a some great columns on Wednesday and Saturday night. Nineteen and twenty could turn out to be my greatest ever. As always be sure to post as much feedback as possible it is always much appreciated.
Until next time its your favorite spartan, Spartacus, signing out!
